Virtual library tours - UK
Some libraries are confusing and it can be difficult for readers to find their way round. Below are examples of different approaches to help readers learn their way round libraries through the virtual tour.

Kenrick Library, University of Central England. Provides floor plans with hotspots, pictures of the library and brief explanations.
University of Leicester, Virtual Library tour. Provides floor plans and images of the three libraries of the University Leicester.
Southampton Solent University, Library tour. Provides a pictorial route round the Library. They also have an and online video called More than words.
Thames Valley University, Virtual Tour of St. Mary's Road Learning Resource Centre. Povides a pictorial route round the Library and gives basic information regarding borrowing, printing etc.
Univeristy of Wolverhampton, Interactive Tour of Harrison Learning Centre. Provides floor plans and a pictorial explanation of services on offer from the Library.

There are many private companies that can assist your Library in creating a virtual tour, undertake a Google search and you will discover there are lots! Alternatively you can create one yourself using software such as Easypano TourWeaver and open source software such as Mapwing, Chara banc or JATC.
