CILIP CSG Information Literacy Group
The CILIP CSG Information Literacy group aims to provide a forum across all sectors of the profession, which encourages debate and allows the exchange of knowledge in all aspects of Information Literacy.The group objectives are:
- To provide a forum for discussion
- To disseminate information about local, national and international initiatives
- To encourage the publication of articles, both nationally and internationally, which share new ideas, initiatives and experience
- To encourage collaboration and support across all sectors of the profession
- To promote the ideal of Information Literacy in all sectors
- To highlight and promote good practice

- Maintaining an active email list, lis-infoliteracy
- Organising conferences, especially LILAC
- Organising meetings and seminars
- Producing publications
- Maintaining a database of good practice
- Responding to initiatives where appropriate
- Working in partnership with other relevant organisations and agencies
The Community Services Group
(CSG) is the parent group of the Information Literacy Group, and seeks
to promote information, equality, and opportunity "...creating
community cohesion by promoting the use of library and information
services to empower people and improve their quality of life.”
